This is a music score set for a cappella choir of Milorad Marinkovic's famous composition for which he has received The Golden Diapason Award 2010 by Union of the European Choral Federations.
"Holy God" is the first movement of the Orthodox Requiem. It is sung just before the beginning of the service. The rhythm is funeral and it represents and creates the central processional atmosphere. In this music I have quoted Tchaikovsky's "Svjati Bože" from his Liturgy, but here in low, gloomy e-flat minor, and in slower tempo. This reference have a double sense: the first - it is allusion on Russian Christian Orthodox culture and faith which in one moment had been destroyed (when Tsar Nikolai was murdered), and the second - the music is making links toward the church chants, which is essentially important for the experience of the Orthodox worship.
